Environment, Health & Safety Manager

Location: Glasgow

Type: Permanent

Salary: £50-55,000

This is a newly created opportunity working for a multidisciplinary, growing UK engineering services business that collaborates with a diverse range of customers across education, defense, local authorities, and other sectors. The Environment, Health & Safety Manager will focus on personnel providing engineering services into these facilities.

Responsibilities of the Environment, Health & Safety Manager include:

• Implementing health, safety, and environmental strategies to improve performance and promote a positive safety culture.
• Providing technical health and safety advice, managing risks, and conducting incident investigations.
• Coaching and supporting leaders, managers, and supervisors, and leading Safety Committee Meetings.
• Responding to legislative changes, ensuring compliance, and assisting with occupational health matters.

Requirements for the Environment, Health & Safety Manager include:

• Ability to develop pragmatic solutions to achieve objectives and a proven track record in implementing management systems compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
• Flexibility in influencing approaches and styles to foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate compliance messages clearly and build credibility with business leaders and site personnel.
• Strong knowledge of current legislation, codes of practice, guidance, and operating procedures. Continued professional development in health, safety, and environmental disciplines, ideally Tech IOSH or progressing towards Cert IOSH / CMIOSH.
