Job summary

STERIS Instrument Processing in the UK is recruiting an entry-level Sterile Services Technician to learn end-to-end sterilisation of surgical instruments and support NHS operations. The role includes 12 weeks of training and progression onto a defined career pathway, with an apprenticeship route available.

Starting salary is £25,272 plus a 5% performance bonus and additional allowances for overtime or unsociable hours wherever offered.

Responsibilities

• Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments.
• Preparing sterile consumables by decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing.
• Washing, inspecting, and packing theatre instrument sets to contract standards.
• Operating washers, disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners and sterilisers safely and effectively.
• Recording repairs and missing instruments on the Tracking and Traceability system.
