Job summary

STERIS Instrument Processing is seeking an entry-level Sterile Services Technician. You will learn a recognised process for sterilising surgical instruments used in local NHS and private hospitals, with ongoing training to support progression on a formal career pathway.

The role includes operating washers, sterilisers, and related equipment, completing tracking entries, and ensuring instruments are returned to stock on completion of repairs. Training is structured and job security is strong.

Qualifications

• Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
• Basic IT skills to operate track and traceability IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow the regulated end-to-end sterilization/decontamination process for surgical instruments used in NHS/private hospitals.
• Prepare sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments) through decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing.
• Check, wash, and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications.
