Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Bury, Greater Manchester. The role provides 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs, assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour support.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a salary of £525-£600 per week (dependent on experience). Start date is Tuesday 1 September 2026 and the contract is full-time and permanent.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively.
  • A calm, compassionate and proactive approach.
  • Strong understanding of Autism and SEND.
  • A relevant TA qualification.

About the school

We are partnering with a welcoming, specialist SEND school in Bury that nurtures every child's potential. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, and other complex learning requirements. Teaching goes beyond the classroom – pupils are encouraged to explore, engage, and develop at their own pace, supported by a team committed to their wellbeing and growth.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
