Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm specialist setting in Rochdale. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs, assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour support.

This role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a permanent, full-time contract. Candidates should have experience with SEND, strong communication, and a relevant TA qualification; eligibility requires Right to Work in the

Qualifications

Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with pupils, parents and staff.
Calm, compassionate and proactive approach to supporting learners.
Strong understanding of Autism and SEND needs.
Relevant TA qualification or certificate as part of staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions
Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day
Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team
