Job summary

GT Stewart Solicitors is seeking a First Line IT Support Engineer in St Albans (with travel to other GT Stewart offices). The role involves providing front-line tech support for hardware, software and Microsoft 365, handling helpdesk requests, and assisting with user administration and equipment deployment.

You will function within an IT team that supports Windows environments, network services, and cloud apps.

Qualifications

Previous experience in an IT support or service desk environment.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Experience supporting Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
Experience configuring laptops, desktops and printers.
Basic understanding of Active Directory.
Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Exposure to Microsoft Intune or Mobile Device Management.
Experience supporting cloud-based telephony systems.
Knowledge of legal case management systems such as Partner for Windows.
Microsoft, CompTIA or ITIL certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support to colleagues across the firm via telephone, email, remote support and in person.
Log, prioritise and resolve IT support requests through the helpdesk system.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, mobile device and peripheral issues.
Escalate more complex technical issues where appropriate.
