Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the Non-Insurance Financial Reporting team in Group Finance, London. No prior finance experience is required; someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and with good communication will fit well.

You will gain practical experience across financial reporting, reconciliations, journals, audits and controls, working with supportive colleagues and gradually taking on more responsibility as you grow.

Qualifications

• Interest in learning about finance, accounting and financial reporting.
• Good attention to detail and careful approach to tasks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence asking questions and seeking support when required.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for non-insurance legal entities.
• Prepare reconciliations, analysis, supporting schedules and journals.
• Post journals in line with agreed processes, evidence and approval requirements.
• Gather information and investigate straightforward reporting queries.
• Support external audit requests with evidence and clear documentation.
• Respond to routine reporting and systems queries with guidance from the team.
• Assist with testing, documentation and data gathering for finance change activity.
• Share observations and contribute to agreed process improvements.
