Job summary

OpTek Systems is seeking an entry-level Build team member in Abingdon to help assemble and wire electrical components based on assembly models and engineering instructions.

The role includes assembling bespoke machinery, fitting and wiring components, installing according to schematics, and using hand tools and measuring equipment. You will work to meet tight deadlines and collaborate with other departments. Full training provided for those eager to start in engineering.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail to work accurately in high-precision environment.
• Capable of using hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, spanners and drills.
• Good time management to meet strict deadlines.
• Quality assurance mindset for fault finding and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble bespoke machinery from start to finish based on schematic and layout drawings.
• Fit, wire, and build laser precision machinery.
• Install electrical components according to schematics.
• Perform electrical wiring based on schematics and drawings.
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, hand drills, and pillar drills.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and collaborate with other departments.
