Job summary

SSR Contract & Technical is seeking a skilled Security Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support advanced electronic security systems across enterprise environments. The role combines reactive service, planned maintenance, and small works projects to keep access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems running securely and to customer specifications.

You will diagnose faults, carry out upgrades, and work with platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, and Avigilon Alta.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience within the electronic security industry.
• Proven experience servicing and maintaining enterprise access control and CCTV systems.
• Experience delivering fault-finding, maintenance, commissioning, and small works activities.
• Experience working within commercial, enterprise, critical infrastructure, or data centre environment preferred.
• Strong customer-facing experience and ability to manage customer expectations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Attend reactive service calls and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and integrated security systems.
• Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with customer and manufacturer requirements.
• Deliver small works projects including system expansions, upgrades, equipment replacements, elocations, and remedial works.
• Install, configure, test, and commission enterprise-level security systems.
• Perform software upgrades, firmware updates, and system enhancements.
• Support and manage platforms such as LenelS2, CCURE, Honeywell Pro-Watch, Vanderbilt, AMAG, Feenics, Openpath, and Avigilon Alta.
• Work with CCTV and Video Management Systems including Genetec, Milestone, and Avigilon.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and integration-related issues.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and commissioning documentation.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, customers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Complete testing and customer handovers for completed works.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and additional works.
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and industry standards.
• Participate in an on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
