Job summary

Referment is partnering with a financial technology business to strengthen its risk function. This permanent Risk Manager role is in the second line of defence within Risk and Compliance, reporting to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, owning the enterprise risk management framework and embedding governance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Six years+ experience in risk management within an FCA-regulated investment firm.
• Experience designing and embedding enterprise risk management frameworks including risk registers, KRIs and risk appetite statements.
• Familiarity with SYSC, PRIN, ICARA and MIFIDPRU.
• Hands-on operational resilience experience covering important business services, impact tolerances and DR/testing.
• Experience with third-party risk management and governance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain top-down and bottom-up risk assessments and risk registers across the business.
• Support risk appetite statements and board approvals.
• Review and calibrate KRIs and thresholds in line with risk appetite.
• Implement third-party risk frameworks with governance oversight.
• Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
• Prepare risk-focused board and committee papers; support ICARA and wind-down planning.
