Job summary

SmartestEnergy Business Limited (SEBL) is seeking a statutory Finance Director and enterprise CFO to lead the financial direction and governance on the SEBL Board. You will shape strategy, capital, risk and performance, partnering with the CEO and executive team to sustain value creation.

In this pivotal role you will own the long-term financial plan, oversee reporting integrity, ensure resilience and drive transformation across data, technology and finance operations.

Qualifications

• Statutory Finance Director or enterprise CFO with governance accountability.
• Leads a complete, multi-layered Finance function through senior leaders.
• Post-qualification experience in senior finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of UK energy retail economics and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Set financial strategy, performance architecture and capital allocation.
• Provide independent Board assurance over financial performance and control.
• Own long-term financial plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Advise on regulatory, market and competitive developments.
• Oversee financial-control, reporting framework and governance.
• Lead capital, liquidity management and resilience initiatives.
