Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a data leader to drive enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives across client, product, reference data, and account domains, ensuring high-quality, integrated master data to support data governance and digital transformation goals.

You will own data quality, profiling, governance, metadata and CDE management, partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolve issues at source, and guide junior analysts to adopt best practices across the MDM

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to query and analyze large datasets.
• Experience in data profiling, data patterns and quality issues.
• Data quality management including rule definition and remediation tracking.
• Understanding of MDM concepts: match/merge, survivorship and stewardship.
• Experience with data governance: metadata, lineage, CDE management.
• Root cause analysis and ability to drive source-level improvements.
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead Master Data subdomains (Client, Product, Reference Data).
• Drive end-to-end data quality initiatives from profiling to remediation.
• Perform deep-dive analyses to identify patterns and data issues.
• Define and implement data quality rules and monitoring frameworks.
• Partner with business and technology to resolve data issues at source.
• Lead data governance and stewardship activities including metadata and lineage.
• Collaborate on data ingestion, integration, and MDM enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement across master data processes.
