Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Lead Master Data Management (MDM) professional to drive enterprise-wide data quality across client, product, third-party, and account domains in the United Kingdom.

You will own subdomains, define data quality rules, mentor analysts, and partner with business and technology teams to ensure trusted data for governance and analytics.

The role requires advanced SQL, data profiling, and experience with data governance practices; knowledge of Collibra or BI tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and ability to query large datasets across multiple systems.
• Experience in data profiling and identifying data quality issues.
• Hands-on knowledge of Master Data Management concepts and data governance.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis and drive remediation.
• Excellent communication with business and technology stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide Master Data subdomains (Client, Product, Reference Data).
• Drive data quality initiatives from profiling to remediation design.
• Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify patterns and improvements.
• Define data quality rules, controls, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with business and technology to resolve data issues at source.
• Lead data governance activities including metadata, lineage, and CDE management.
• Partner with architecture on data ingestion and MDM enhancements.
• Mentor junior analysts and propagate best practices.
