Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a senior data management professional to lead enterprise-wide Master Data Management initiatives across client, product, reference data domains. You will ensure high-quality, integrated master data to support data governance and digital transformation goals.

You will own subdomains, drive end-to-end data quality, perform deep-dive profiling, define data quality rules, and partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolve data issues at source.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills to query, join, reconcile and analyze large datasets across multiple systems.
• Experience in data profiling and identifying data patterns, anomalies, and quality issues.
• Proven capability in data quality management including rule definition and remediation tracking.
• Solid understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts (match/merge, survivorship, golden record).
• Experience with data governance practices, including metadata, lineage, and CDE management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and drive resolution at source.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication to present insights to business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead assigned Master Data subdomains (e.g., Client, Product, Reference Data).
• Drive end-to-end data quality initiatives from profiling to remediation execution.
• Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Define and implement data quality rules, controls, and monitoring frameworks.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to resolve data issues at source.
• Lead data governance and stewardship activities, including metadata, lineage, and CDE management.
• Collaborate with technology and architecture on data ingestion, integration, and MDM enhancements.
• Drive continuous improvement across master data processes and data flows.
• Support regulatory, operational, and analytical data requirements with trusted data.
