Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Software Engineer with Applied AI to shape enterprise AI workflows within the North workspace platform. You will own the design, build, and deployment of agentic solutions that reason, plan, and act across tools and data sources.

You’ll collaborate with customers, translate business needs into concrete technical specs, and ensure reliability, observability, and safety from day one. This is a hybrid role with global visibility.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python.
• Experience deploying RAG and agentic apps, including planning patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute.
• Familiarity with the LLM stack: frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure agent accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Experience working directly with customers and translating needs into technical specs.
• Experience owning the full scope of a use case end-to-end.
• Thrives in fast-paced and ambiguous environments and can adapt to shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-value business problems into well-framed agentic workflows with clear success criteria.
• Lead design, build, and delivery of LLM-powered agents across tools and data sources with enterprise reliability.
• Build and ship features for North, the AI workspace platform, across the product lifecycle.
• Own scoping of use cases end-to-end, including frontend work if needed.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks and patterns for consistent delivery across teams.
• Raise engineering quality and alignment in ambiguous situations.
• Travel up to 20-40% to work on-site with customers and partners.
