Job summary

Travel Counsellors is seeking an Agentic Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the enterprise agentic platform that enables AI agents to safely plan, reason, use tools and execute work across our technology estate. This role emphasizes production-ready, versioned agents with strong security and governance.

You will collaborate with Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, Data and Product teams to deliver reliable agentic products with clear human oversight and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and operating production AI-agent or LLM-powered systems.
• Strong Python experience including API design, testing, async processing and production debugging.
• Experience with agent orchestration, tool calling, workflow state, retrieval-augmented generation and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Secure integrations with enterprise APIs, cloud services, CI/CD, observability or ITSM platforms.
• Experience creating evaluation frameworks for agent quality, safety and reliability.
• Knowledge of agent security, workload identity, least privilege and audit trails.
• Production observation of LLM/agent workloads including tracing, versioning and incident response.
• Cloud-native engineering with AWS; IaC, containers or serverless, networking and monitoring.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the enterprise agentic platform and its orchestration, runtime services and policy enforcement.
• Develop reusable agent frameworks, SDKs and patterns for secure, scalable AI agents.
• Engineer autonomous and human-in-the-loop agent workflows with defined risk controls.
• Integrate agents securely with enterprise platforms, cloud services and APIs using MCP.
• Build production-grade agent services using Python, cloud-native patterns and IaC.
• Implement evaluation, observability and ongoing improvement: tracing, telemetry and performance tuning.
• Embed security, governance and data protection through least-privilege and audits.
• Own reliability and on-call readiness for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and incident response.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Architecture and Data to set standards and adoption.
