Job summary

Cohere is hiring a Software Engineer, Agents & Automations, to build and scale the North platform. You'll work across frontend, backend, and AI-powered systems to ship reliable software that enables customers to create autonomous AI-powered workflows.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, strong product judgment, and collaboration with product, design, and customer-facing teams. Our stack includes Python, TypeScript with React, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software used by real users.
• Ability to work across backend, frontend, product, data, and infra boundaries.
• Strong attention to user experience details and impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, ship, and maintain core capabilities for North’s Agents & Automations platform.
• Build product and platform features to create, run, debug, evaluate, and improve agents and automations.
• Own features end-to-end from design through testing, launch and iteration.
• Work across the stack from frontend to backend as needed by the product.
• Make practical technical decisions balancing speed, quality, depth and user impact.
• Collaborate with product, design, modelling, customer-facing teams and other engineers to ship measurable improvements.
• Use AI actively in work while ensuring quality and reliability of what you ship.
• Explore problems like turning natural-language intent into automations, analytics for deployed agents, debugging tools, and workflow primitives.
