Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced English Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 tuition to a learner in Wigan.

This role focuses on building confidence, developing core literacy skills and helping the learner make steady progress toward individual goals. You will plan sessions based on needs, adapt resources, and provide feedback. The position is part-time (5-15 hours per week) with a September 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring English
• Strong English subject knowledge
• Experience supporting children or young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable and learner-focused approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional child-related references
