Job summary

Alder Community High School is seeking a Teacher of English and Academic Intervention Co-ordinator (Reading) to develop literacy across the whole school. You will teach English to KS3/KS4 and lead school-wide reading interventions, driving improvement in reading ages and progress.

The role involves coordinating testing, evaluating intervention programmes, and delivering CPD and updates to staff, parents and governors.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering inspiring lessons
• Coordinate whole school reading age testing
• Research and quality assure reading intervention programmes for student needs
• Work with staff delivering reading intervention to ensure effectiveness and value for money
• Complete regular data analysis to target students
• Liaise with English subject lead to ensure continuity of support in lessons
• Present to staff, parents and governors regarding reading progress
• Deliver CPD to colleagues on reading in lessons following the intervention
• Lead the whole school strategy for reading intervention
