Our English Department is a collaborative and ambitious team that is passionate about developing students' literacy, communication and critical thinking skills.

We want our students to leave lessons as confident communicators, thoughtful readers and skilled writers, equipped with the knowledge and understanding to thrive in education and beyond.

We are proud to offer:

  • Strong support from leadership and experienced colleagues.

Your Role

As part of our English team, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and knowledge-rich curriculum while supporting students within our Foundational Knowledge provision.

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Inspire a love of reading, writing and literature.
  • Teach 14 periods per week within our Foundational Knowledge Curriculum, delivering English, Mathematics, and Humanities to a small group of lower-attaining students.
  • Develop students' literacy, communication, numeracy and independent learning skills.
  • Track and support student progress through effective feedback and targeted intervention.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement, engagement and behaviour.

  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Has high expectations of themselves and their students.
  • Is committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their potential.
  • Values inclusive education and is passionate about supporting students who require additional academic support.

What We Offer

  • Outstanding CPD and career progression opportunities tailored to your goals.
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive school environment where your ideas are valued.
  • A dedicated induction programme for all new staff.
