E-ACT The Oldham Academy North is seeking an ambitious Early Career Teacher of English (ECT) to begin their teaching career in an inspiring, supportive environment. You will join our English department, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, planning engaging lessons and receiving expert mentoring through a comprehensive ECT programme.

Qualifications

QTS (or on track to achieve QTS) required
Degree in English or related subject required
Strong subject knowledge and passion for English language and literature
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to inspire, challenge and motivate students to achieve their full potential

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire students and promote excellent progress
Assess, monitor and track student achievement, providing timely feedback to support learning
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports high standards of behaviour and achievement
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and wider school staff to maximise student success and wellbeing
