Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Sefton is seeking an experienced English & Maths Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 educational support for a learner in Sefton. The role suits a versatile tutor who can cover both subjects and help learners overcome gaps in their learning.

The ideal candidate has experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths, a strong understanding of the curriculum, DBS checks, and the right to work in the UK. This ongoing position offers 5–15 hours per week with a September 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English and Maths in a tutoring or classroom setting.
• Strong understanding of the relevant curriculum.
• Experience supporting young people.
• Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching methods.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching experience preferred.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional references involving work with children.
