Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced English & Maths Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 educational support to a learner in Sefton. The role offers 5-15 hours per week with a September 2026 start, ongoing duration and flexibility to adapt to the learner's needs.

The tutor will deliver personalised tuition across both subjects, plan lessons, identify gaps, build confidence and monitor progress, ensuring learning is accessible and engaging. DBS checked or willing to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English and Maths.
• Strong understanding of the English curriculum.
• Two professional references involving work with children.

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of the relevant curriculum
• Previous experience supporting young people
• Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching experience preferred
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
