Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced English & Maths Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 educational support in Sefton. The role is for 5-15 hours per week, starting September 2026, with an ongoing duration. You will work across both subjects and help the learner close gaps in their learning.

You will deliver personalised tuition, plan lessons, identify knowledge gaps, build confidence in literacy and numeracy, and monitor progress. DBS and right to work checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring English and Maths
• Strong understanding of the relevant curriculum
• Previous experience supporting young people
• Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• QTS, PGCE or relevant teaching experience preferred
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to Work in the UK
• Two professional references involving work with children
