Job summary

Coleman James Ltd T/a CJ Education is seeking an Intervention Tutor, English to support learners in an alternative provision setting in the Middlesbrough area. You will lead English intervention and help students improve literacy and overall learning in a supportive classroom environment.

The role requires a degree-level qualification and experience with secondary-aged students, with a focus on behaviour management and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification (English/education-related) required.
• Experience with secondary-aged students preferred.
• Experience in alternative provision, SEMH, SEND or PRU desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver English-focused intervention to secondary-aged students.
• Support literacy, reading and written communication skills.
• Work with individuals and small groups; build positive relationships.
• Create a calm, structured learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Identify barriers to learning and support wider educational development.
