Job summary

Engage Education in North London is seeking a GCSE Intervention Officer to support students ahead of GCSE examinations. This role involves delivering targeted 1:1 and small group sessions, focusing on English, Maths and Science, and developing personalised intervention plans with teachers.

You will monitor progress and attendance, provide feedback to staff, and mentor students to build revision techniques and confidence for the GCSE period.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant experience working with secondary-aged students.
• Experience tutoring, mentoring, teaching, or supporting young people is desirable.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students to achieve their best.
• A proactive, organised, and resilient approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group intervention sessions to GCSE pupils.
• Support students across core subjects, especially English, Maths, and Science.
• Identify learning gaps and work with teachers to develop intervention plans.
• Monitor progress, attendance, and engagement; provide feedback to staff.
• Motivate students to develop revision techniques, study skills, and confidence.
• Encourage attendance, resilience, and academic ambition.
• Support revision sessions and examination preparation as needed.
• Build positive relationships with students as a mentor and role model.
