Protocol Education is recruiting enthusiastic English Graduates to support students in a successful secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your educational experience while helping young people improve their literacy, communication and confidence.
As an English Graduate, you may work as Teaching Assistant, Literacy Support Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant.
Qualifications
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
- A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Support students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Deliver literacy and reading interventions.
- Help students develop confidence in reading, writing and communication.
- Support learners with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging classroom lessons.
- Encourage student engagement and positive learning behaviours.
- Work alongside teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
- Build positive relationships that support academic progress and wellbeing.
