Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting English graduates to support students in a Sunderland secondary school, helping literacy, reading and communication. The role offers a full-time start with long-term opportunities and ongoing CPD.

You will gain experience by supporting learners one-to-one and in small groups, delivering literacy interventions and working with SEND teams to boost confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with young people desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Deliver literacy and reading interventions.
• Help students develop confidence in reading, writing and communication.
• Support learners with SEND, ASC, ADHD and additional learning needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging classroom lessons.
• Encourage student engagement and positive learning behaviours.
• Build relationships with teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
