NLCS is seeking a motivated and capable Second in Department - English to cover maternity leave from April 2027. You will work closely with the Head of Department to shape teaching, learning and literacy across the school, supporting leadership, development and management of the English department.

The role requires an outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for English, strong organisational skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day leadership, development and management of teaching and learning within the department.
• Help to drive and promote literacy across the wider school community.
• Collaborate with Head of Department to maintain high academic standards.
