Job summary

TeacherActive in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an experienced English and Maths Tutor to support learners in an alternative provision setting. You will deliver tailored tuition across English and Maths, helping pupils make progress and build confidence.

Starting ASAP, the role offers market-rate PAYE pay (£25-£35 per hour) with flexible long-term placement and ongoing CPD opportunities, plus a referral scheme and dedicated consultant support.

Are you an experienced English and Maths Tutor who can engage young people in an alternative provision setting?

Can you deliver tailored English and Maths sessions to help pupils make progress and build confidence?

Are you patient, adaptable and confident working with young people who may require additional support with their education?

TeacherActive is proud to be working alongside the council and an alternative provision in Stoke-on-Trent. The setting provides a supportive learning environment for young people who require an alternative approach to education, with a focus on engagement, confidence and academic progress.

The provision is looking to take on an English and Maths Tutor on a long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful English and Maths Tutor will deliver engaging and tailored tuition across English and Maths, adapting sessions to meet individual learning needs and supporting young people to make positive progress.

The successful English and Maths Tutor will have:

• Relevant qualifications or strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
• Experience tutoring, teaching or supporting young people in an educational setting
• Experience adapting learning to meet individual needs
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
