Job summary

SSE offers a 12-month Engineering Year in Industry Internship across Glasgow, Perth and Leeds, providing hands-on experience in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering. You will work with experienced engineers and specialists on a range of activities in our Thermal business.

Applicants are pursuing a degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and are in their second or third year, intending to return to university after the placement.

Qualifications

• You’ll be studying towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• This opportunity is intended for students who are currently in the second or third year of their degree and are looking to undertake a 12‑month year in industry internship as part of their university course.
• You’ll be expected to return to university to complete your studies following the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support a range of engineering, asset management and project activities across SSE's Thermal business.
• Spend 12 months working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists to gain hands-on experience.
