You’ll spend 12 months working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, supporting a range of engineering, asset management and project activities across our Thermal business.
Depending on the team you join, you could be involved in engineering projects, technical problem-solving, asset improvement initiatives, maintenance activities or project delivery work. This is an opportunity to see how engineering principles are applied in a large, complex operational business while contributing to the delivery of safe, reliable and efficient energy infrastructure.
Alongside meaningful project experience, you'll benefit from mentoring, structured development opportunities and support from experienced colleagues across SSE.
You’ll be studying towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
This opportunity is intended for students who are currently in the second or third year of their degree and are looking to undertake a 12-month year in industry internship as part of their university course. You'll be expected to return to university to complete your studies following the internship.
