Job summary

University of Lancashire seeks a Technical Officer to lead the operation of our engineering workshop facilities, coordinating workshop resources and supervising a team of skilled technical staff to support teaching, research and commercial activities.

The postholder will deliver practical demonstrations, manage stock, ensure high health and safety standards, and provide specialist technical support across courses and projects in a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff within an engineering workshop environment.
• Experience with CNC machinery, CAD/CAM systems and SolidWorks.
• A relevant engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience, is essential.
• Experience in health and safety standards would be advantageous.
