Job summary

Ocado Group in Erith is seeking an Engineering Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our automated Customer Fulfilment Centre. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs and planned maintenance on state-of-the-art robotics and control systems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This hands-on role supports a 24/7 operation, with 12-hour shifts across days, nights and weekends, requiring practical problem-solving and a safe, collaborative approach in a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

About the Role

As an Engineering Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our state-of-the-art, automated Customer Fulfilment Centre in Erith. You'll be the first line of response for engineering faults, working quickly and effectively to diagnose and resolve issues that could impact performance. Alongside reactive maintenance, you’ll carry out planned servicing and repairs to keep our equipment in top condition, while also getting involved in proactive improvement projects to enhance reliability and efficiency. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, high-tech environment

You will work a shift pattern to support our 24/7 operation, consisting of 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.

About you

• Technical understanding of automation hardware/software and ideally control systems, with a formal engineering qualification is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach.

• Comfortable working at height using access equipment, in line with site safety standards.
