Job summary

Ocado Technology operates a high‑throughput Customer Fulfilment Centre in Bicester. This role centers on keeping 24/7 operations running with 12‑hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.

You will tackle critical technical issues and implement proactive improvements on advanced conveyor networks, lifts and cranes. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in FMCG, is computer literate, and brings a problem‑solving mindset with a strong focus on health and safety.

• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Ideally FMCG background with ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Computer literate; quick to learn new skills and apply creative, solution-focused thinking.
• Health and safety is a top priority; comfortable working safely at height.

About the role

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Engineer to be part of Ocado history, joining us at our operational Customer Fulfilment Centre in Bicester. You will be working on state-of-the-art technology, being the principal point of contact for any critical technical issues, as well as keeping the operation running smoothly through proactive improvement works and maintenance activity. You will be working on a range of incredible machinery, from the impressive conveyor networks to lifts and cranes.

You will work a shift pattern to support our 24/7 operation, consisting of 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.

About you

• You have 5+ years of engineering experience, with strong technical competency and a drive for career progression.
• Ideally from an FMCG background, you're confident working in fast-paced, high-performance environments.
• You’re computer literate, eager to learn new skills, and bring a creative, solution-focused mindset to problem-solving.
• Health and safety is a top priority, and you're comfortable and trained to work safely at height.
• You hold at least a Level 3 qualification or a relevant engineering degree, ready to apply it in an innovative and inspiring setting.
