Job summary

Scottish Leather Group in Bridge of Weir is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to guide the Maintenance Engineering team, coordinating planned and reactive maintenance while prioritising safety and efficiency.

You will lead by example, develop engineering capability, and collaborate with Production to maximise equipment availability in a high‑standard manufacturing environment. A strong HSE focus and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

Be a time-served and qualified engineer with experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong Health & Safety understanding, with ability to improve practices and promote a safe culture.
Excellent organisational skills to prioritise, delegate, and respond to changing needs.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers and leading by example.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance activities, safely and efficiently.
Organise and allocate maintenance across shifts with Senior Maintenance Engineers.
Embed a Zero Tolerance Health & Safety culture with risk assessments before work.
Provide technical guidance to engineers to resolve maintenance issues.
Monitor KPIs to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
Coach and develop Engineering team members for higher performance.
