Job summary
GRW Talent Limited is seeking a Lead Dayshift Engineer for their Jedburgh site in the Scottish Borders to lead and optimise maintenance and engineering activities.
You will deputise for the Engineering Leader, supervise the team, troubleshoot complex issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER and environmental standards while coordinating PM tasks around production demands.
Qualifications
- Senior engineering role in manufacturing with preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Experience supervising teams or deputising in leadership roles.
- Familiar with PUWER, LOLER and environmental standards; CMMS knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Engineering Leader and supervise the engineering team.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance on machinery and plant equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and implement effective repairs.
- Coordinate maintenance around production demands and communicate upcoming PM tasks.
- Update the CMMS with completed work orders and spare parts usage.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and notify when stock needs replenishment.
- Drive continuous improvement and root cause analyses to reduce failures.
