Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting an Engineering Teacher to work in a Newcastle secondary school, delivering across KS3 and KS4. You will develop students' technical, design, and problem-solving skills through hands-on engineering projects, with a focus on practical learning and safety in workshops.

This long-term role offers potential progression to full-time, with competitive daily pay via PAYE and supportive school and consultant guidance from Vision for Education.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Engineering or Design & Technology at KS3 and/or KS4.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Confident classroom and workshop management skills.
• A passion for practical education and student engagement.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engineering across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver lessons in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering principles.
• Support students with projects, coursework, and practical assessments.
• Promote safe working practices, including health & safety in workshops.
• Plan differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Work collaboratively within the Design & Technology / Engineering department.
