Leading Medical Technology Company Engineering Systems Technician / Night shift
Plymouth, England, United Kingdom

£30,000 to £34,000 + Bonus + Shift Premium + Pension Match
Shift: Rotating Nights (3 days on and 3 days off)
Hours: 11pm - 11am
The Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the Process group in addressing technical challenges within our production areas. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills to improve processes, mentor Production Technicians, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. This night shift onsite role (11pm - 11am, 3 days on and 3 days off) offers a competitive salary plus a 48% shift premium.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical expertise and support to Production Technicians in resolving complex machine-related faults.
2. Act as a process expert for specific equipment, guiding others and sharing knowledge.
3. Mentor Production Technicians, fostering their development in fault diagnosis and technology utilization.
4. Utilize technology, including PCs, HMI screens, and MES, for effective fault diagnosis and equipment management.
5. Identify and implement improvements to existing equipment, focusing on cost reductions, productivity, quality, and health & safety.
6. Assist Project and Process Groups during the installation and start-up of new equipment, contributing to continuous improvement programs.
7. Lead small process improvement projects, coordinating relevant skills such as Toolroom, Quality, and Validation.

About you:

1. At least a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience in a similar high-volume assembly and manufacturing role.
3. Proficient IT skills for operating SAP systems to log maintenance, order parts, and diagnose faults using data.
4. Strong engineering aptitude with the ability to fault find and resolve technical problems.
5. Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems is highly desirable.
6. Excellent communication skills, with a positive attitude and patience when mentoring and assisting less experienced associates.

Ideal Candidate:

• The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a high volume assembly and manufacturing environment in a similar position.
• Mechanical or electrical Level 3 Engineering Qualification.
• Ready to do night shift.
