Job Description Summary

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Moulding Production Technician at our Plymouth site. This role will be responsible for the production of plastic components (Vacutainer Tubes & Caps) using injection moulding machines. The successful candidate will have an engineering background, with previous injection moulding experience desirable (however not mandatory for the right candidate). They will also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Operating injection moulding machines to produce plastic components according to specifications.
  • Troubleshooting any issues with the machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
  • Completion of routine planned maintenance - Weekly, Monthly & 6 Monthly.
  • Assisting PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks on machines.
  • Working safely and adhering to all health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g. 5S, Gemba Activities, Kaizen, TIMWOODS).
  • Collaborating with all members of the shift core team including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers and Shift Leaders.
  • Documenting production data and maintaining accurate records through SAP.
  • Conducting regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

About You

  • Qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g: C&G, HND) or a time served apprenticeship.
  • Experience in maintenance and fault finding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an Electrical Technical based role is a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques is a distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience of Injection Moulding is desirable although not mandatory.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
