Job Summary

Under close supervision, a Technician I may be responsible for assembly, forming, finishing, material removal, inspection, rework, and repair of components and parts according to customer specifications. Responsibilities include maintenance of machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum, and electrical systems across the company. Tasks involve operating machines, hand and power tools, gauges, measuring instruments, fabricating temporary tooling, and performing first-level maintenance.

Work Schedule

This is a WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT: Friday-Sunday, 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Identify and evaluate patterns; determine methods for material removal to meet specifications, including media tank removal.
  2. Prepare parts for tanks by painting, patching, and removing maskants for etching; use tools to layout patterns.
  3. Drill, assemble rivets and brackets, trim, and touch up paint on segments and rings.
  4. Deburr and form parts using expanders, dye presses, and rolls.
  5. Apply masking tape to holes and parts as required.
  6. Strip flanges, load parts with cranes, and operate laser programs.
  7. Maintain records of maintenance and order spare parts as needed.
  8. Keep a clean work environment, complying with company, customer, and government standards.
  9. Support the development of a business culture aligned with company objectives, focusing on cost, quality, process, schedule, and people.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience with hand tools and measuring tools
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to security clearance requirements

Preferred:

  • GKN Aerospace experience
  • Experience with hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Troubleshooting skills related to safety, quality, and technical issues
  • Willingness to work in a repetitive production environment, meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets
