Job description

Join us as an Engineering Supervisor at our Colchester depot and take your engineering skills to the next level!

About you

• You will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering field and be familiar with monitoring standard of engineering work on PCV.
• Knowledge of safe operation of workshop equipment is essential; previous supervisory experience is desirable.
• You must possess, or be capable of obtaining, a full PCV licence (we will support you in this).
• You need a full UK Driving License.

Working shift pattern

This position is for a late shift supervisor; however, you may need to cover occasional early shifts when required.

Role Specifics

• Supervise maintenance and servicing of the fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with statutory regulations.
• Induct and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Allocate planned and unplanned work efficiently across the team, including covering absences.
• Ensure vehicle availability meets operational requirements.
• Support the Stores Manager in stock management and warranty claims processing.
• Maintain accurate records of engineering standards, fleet, and environmental management.
• Conduct disciplinary, grievance, or absence reviews as per company policy.
• Collaborate with depot operational and engineering teams to manage service performance, vehicle allocation, breakdowns, and punctuality.
