Job summary

Talent Solution Partners is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor for a hands-on leadership role at a critical commercial site in Brighton. You will oversee day-to-day engineering operations, coordinate workloads, and ensure maintenance is delivered safely and efficiently.

The role requires progressed into a Lead Engineer or Supervisory position with strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills. Monday–Friday, site-based role with 1-in-6 call duties on offer.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications required: City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition compliance.
• Experience in (critical) commercial or building maintenance is essential.
• Proven track record in lead/supervisory roles overseeing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the on-site engineering team.
• Manage planned and reactive maintenance workloads (PPM).
• Support engineers with technical issues and fault finding.
• Oversee safety, permits, and safe systems of work on site.
• Liaise with clients regarding ongoing works and technical issues.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor / Lead Engineer to join an established engineering team at a critical commercial site in Brighton.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll oversee the day‑to‑day engineering operation, coordinate workloads and ensure planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely and efficiently.

It’s an excellent opportunity for a strong electrical engineer who has progressed into a Lead Engineer or Supervisory position but still enjoys being technically involved.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the on-site engineering team
• Manage PPM and reactive maintenance workloads
• Support engineers with technical issues and fault finding
• Monitor critical mechanical and electrical plant
• Oversee contractors and ensure works are completed safely
• Manage permits and safe systems of work
• Ensure outstanding maintenance tasks are completed on time
• Support the training and development of engineers
• Liaise with clients regarding technical issues and ongoing works
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability and site performance

What We’re Looking For

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
• 18th Edition
• Strong commercial or critical building maintenance experience
• Previous Lead Engineer, Shift Manager or Supervisory experience
• Good knowledge of M&E building services
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Confident managing engineers, contractors and client relationships
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to participate in a 1-in-6 call-out rota
