Job summary

RH Recruiting Limited is assisting a well-established manufacturing client in recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor. The role is site-based and covers managing a team of six, coordinating maintenance to maximise site efficiency, and liaising with engineering to prioritise workloads.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 18th Edition (desirable), PLC experience, and a track record in maintenance leadership within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in engineering leadership or supervisory roles.
• 18th Edition qualification (desirable).
• Experience planning and managing PPM schedules.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan workloads with the Engineering Manager and allocate tasks.
• Supervise a team of 6 across maintenance activities.
• Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance with minimal disruption to production.
• Source materials from external suppliers for repairs and improvements.
• Ensure repairs and projects meet high standards and IMS compliance.
• Communicate updates between Maintenance and Engineering Manager.
• Monitor performance and escalate concerns as needed.

Salary/Rate: £46,500 - 51,750 per year + benfits, bonus and OT

We are currently supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Maintenance Supervisor to join their growing operation commutable from Goole, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Hull, Selby & Leeds.

This is a shift-based role working Monday to Friday on 2.30pm - 11pm.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will take responsibility for supervising a team of 6 andcoordinatingthe maintenance function to ensure operational efficiency across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

Collaborating with the Engineering Manager to plan workloads and allocate tasks effectively, ensuring work is prioritised and completed efficiently.

Working closely with departmental managers to ensure both reactive and planned maintenance activities are delivered with minimal disruption to production.

Liaising with external suppliers to source appropriate materials and components for repairs and improvement projects.

Ensuring all repairs and site projects are completed to a high standard and in full compliance with relevant regulations.

Acting as a key link between the Engineering Manager and the Maintenance team, communicating updates and business changes clearly.

Monitoring team performance, output and standards, escalating any concerns where necessary.

Maintaining full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures, including responsibilities outlined within the Integrated Management System (IMS).

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

A strong track record of delivering results within an engineering or maintenance environment.

18th Edition qualification (with current IEE regulations) – desirable.

Experience in engineering leadership or supervisory roles, ideally within a manufacturing setting (woodworking experience advantageous).

Working knowledge of PLC systems.

Experience planning and managing PPM schedules alongside reactive maintenance.

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
