Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd. are recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Lead the engineering team to ensure high equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement across the site.

The role involves supervising maintenance activities, planning PPM schedules, and minimising downtime while ensuring health and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate has supervisory experience and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
Strong electrical fault-finding skills within a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
Confident organising workloads and prioritising maintenance activities.
Proactive, motivated, and able to solve problems under pressure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate with Microsoft Office and CMMS/Maintenance Management Systems.
PLC fault-finding experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support the engineering team, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Allocate daily workloads and provide technical support to engineers where required.
Lead reactive maintenance activities, ensuring production downtime is minimised.
Plan and oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximise plant reliability.
Investigate recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
Work closely with production and other departments to minimise disruption to operations.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Monitor engineering performance, identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the development and training of the engineering team.

Our client is a fast-paced manufacturing business that is continuing to grow and invest in its engineering function. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the engineering team, ensuring high equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

The Person

Previous experience working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Engineer, or Senior Maintenance Engineer ready to step into a supervisory role.
