Job summary

PD Ports is seeking an Engineering Stores Person for Tees Dock, Middlesbrough. The role focuses on managing engineering stores operations, maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting engineering and operations teams.

Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, you will conduct goods-in inspections, coordinate deliveries and maintain stock data. The role requires ERP/Excel experience and a proactive approach in a busy engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, inventory, warehouse or engineering stores environments.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
• Experience using inventory management systems, ERP software and Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Understanding of stock control processes and best practices.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Awareness of Health & Safety requirements in engineering/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering stores inventory and monitor stock levels.
• Carry out goods-in inspections and quality checks on incoming materials.
• Liaise with suppliers to expedite orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Support engineering and operational teams with resource availability.
• Coordinate deliveries and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Maintain inventory systems and generate reports.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, including hazardous materials handling.
• Conduct regular stores inspections and report safety concerns.
• Operate departmental plant or vehicles as required.
