Job summary

Klöckner Pentaplast is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to lead the engineering team on shift, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment and site utilities. You will minimise downtime, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, food manufacturing and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the engineering team during the shift, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Coordinate planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with food manufacturing standards, health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and OEE.
• Manage engineering priorities in collaboration with Production to maximise manufacturing performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, shift handover documentation and CMMS records.
• Coach, mentor and develop engineers and apprentices to improve technical capability and performance.
• Support the implementation of engineering projects, equipment installations and commissioning activities.
• Ensure engineering spare parts, tools and consumables are effectively managed and available when required.
• Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Support site audits and ensure engineering standards are maintained at all times.
