Job summary

MERITUS are seeking an Engineering Quality Inspector to join our Bolton operation, supporting Goods In processes with an apprenticeship background. You will inspect mechanical, machined and PCB components against drawings and PO requirements.

The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances and manufacturing specifications, with responsibility for non-conformances and accurate inspection records. 37 hours per week; extension possible.

Qualifications

• Hands-on inspection of mechanical, machined and electronic/PCB components to ensure quality against drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.
• Maintain inspection records and raise non-conformance/defect reports.
• Work within quality procedures and assist with audits and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspection of incoming components, assemblies and manufactured parts.
• Inspect products to ensure quality, dimensional and workmanship standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances to guide verification.
• Perform first-off inspections and support production component approvals.
• Document and control non-conforming items to prevent progression.
