Job summary

PX Group, Stockton-on-Tees, is recruiting a Project Manager to oversee full project lifecycles and deliver scope within budget and schedule while maintaining target margin. You will drive progress across engineering, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning, with on-the-job training and regular development reviews.

The role requires a technical/engineering background, PMI/APM qualification, and experience delivering engineering projects under varied contracts.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree in engineering or similar technical field.
• Formal Project Management qualification (PMI, APM or equivalent) required.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in an engineering environment.
• Experience delivering projects under standard and non-standard contracts.
• Project controls experience: planning, monitoring and cost review.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong computer skills including MS Project/P6 and cost control tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide input and support into project proposals during bid and pre-contract stages.
• Review contractual documents on assignment of contract to understand requirements.
• Develop a Project Execution Plan aligned with client requirements.
• Identify criteria for completion and develop closure plans.
• Manage project costs, budgets and spend; escalate overspends as needed.
• Maintain project programme and monitor progress against schedule.
• Forecast cashflow and identify risks; report to the business.
• Lead internal and external project kick-off and progress meetings.
• Coordinate activities to achieve project schedule across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, installation and handover.
• Prepare internal project summary reports and communicate progress monthly.
• Prepare external progress reports and programme updates as required by contract/client.
• Attend client meetings (on site or virtually) to provide updates.
