Job summary

Cummins is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Plant Support Placement Student to join the Engineering team in Daventry, United Kingdom. This placement year offers hands-on exposure to Power Systems and cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, and Materials Planning.

You will lead a PDECR from concept to implementation, gain broad technical skills, and build a strong internal network, commencing Summer 2027 and onsite three days per week.

Qualifications

• Degree with a 12-month placement year in mechanical, automotive, aeronautical engineering, or a relevant STEM field.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and oral, and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Bridge Operations and Engineering teams to support effective communication and collaboration.
• Work across multiple production lines to identify and resolve technical and operational issues.
• Lead long-term PDECR from concept through implementation with basic project management.
• Develop broad technical skills and strong cross-functional networks.
